  • Overview

    This position is responsible for providing all aspects of engineering for water/wastewater utility projects for public, private and municipal utility district clients. In addition to leading a team of engineers and technical professionals, this position will also be actively involved in professional associations and community organizations as Pape-Dawson continues building partnerships within the community we serve.


    • Direct and manage the implementation of the project including coordination with project stakeholders, consultants, contractors and other external and internal parties to achieve project milestones.
    • Prepare technical memoranda, planning studies and final design calculations, plans and specifications.  Manage project deliverable, budgets, schedules. Ensure compliance with the company’s Quality Assurance policies and procedures. 
    • Oversee and manage construction phases of projects to ensure works are completed in accordance with the contract documents, on time and budget.  Project manager has the responsibility of the project work to be completed in accordance with corporate health and safety policies and quality management systems. 
    • Assist with the preparation of proposals and qualification documents in the interest of obtaining new projects or programs.
    • Maintain client relationships; assist in identification and pursuit of business development opportunities and assist in executing our business goals.
    • Assist in local and regional pursuits including technical approach, and prepositioning activities.


    • Bachelor of Science degree in civil, environmental, or agricultural engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
    • Minimum 12 years’ experience relevant to municipal or private sector water / wastewater as project manager
    • Professional Engineer in Texas or the ability to receive reciprocity within 6 months.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and deliver on time and within budget
    • Knowledge of local codes, development processes, and utility regulations
    • Extensive knowledge of design and construction practices for waterlines, storage tanks, pump stations, wastewater lines, lift stations and forcemains.
    • Proven ability to effectively communicate, both oral and written skills
    • Proven ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, municipal utility districts, public agency officials and community leaders
    • Proven ability to lead a team of engineers and technical professionals
    • Actively involved in professional associations and civic organizations
    • Must be able to work 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with north Texas-area clients
    • Certified PMP
