Overview

The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the Company’s enterprise network, providing guidance to the IT team, building strong relationships both internally and with vendors, and ensuring the smooth operation of critical IT network components. This individual will play a pivotal role in driving the Company’s technology initiatives forward and modernizing its network architecture. Ultimately, this role is responsible for the functional management of the Company’s networks.

Responsibilities

  • Install and configure networking hardware.
  • Create and implement network security measures.
  • Conduct regular network performance tests.
  • Work network support issues.
  • Create network status reports.
  • Deploy, engineer, and troubleshoot complex network configurations for on-premises or cloud-based networks, and assist in the development of playbooks for network systems such as SDWAN systems, and other architectures.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and deploying network technologies, such as Wireless Infrastructure, Digital Experience Tooling, WAN optimization systems, ZTNA based deployments, and SASE based deployments.
  • Assist in the integration of new systems and tools.
  • Develop and maintain scripts to facilitate network administrative tasks and automate repetitive processes.
  • Set the requirements and thresholds for monitoring systems for network devices.
  • Monitor performance and identify areas of improvement for the network; implement performance tuning.
  • Identify trends in issues and determine the root cause to reduce future issues.
  • Develop and ensure adherence to network policies, standards, and standard operating procedures for how-to documents.
  • Undertake the regular analysis and interpretation of traffic and utilization of services on network connections.
  • Analyze alternative hardware, platforms, and technologies for the network infrastructure.
  • Assist in the development of Private SaaS, Edge Computing, and other advanced cloud capabilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field.
  • 8 years of experience in network administration and architecture.
  • Professional certification such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP).
  • Advanced knowledge of network operating systems including Cisco/IOS.
  • Advanced knowledge of networking hardware including wiring, switches, firewalls, access points, and routers.
  • Familiarity with network analysis tools including SolarWinds.
  • In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
  • Familiarity with access control models and network security.
  • Sharp troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to work Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm with overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Zero Trust Networking or SASE.
  • Experience with enterprise scale data centers, network topologies, and architectures.
  • Fundamental understanding of SD-WAN, and experience with deployment and troubleshooting of such architectures.
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification.
