Overview

This position is responsible for leading teams of engineers and technical professionals in Schematic design and PS&E for highway projects for the Transportation division.    

Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance and direction to project design teams by managing workload, scheduling, project timeline, QA/QC, and oter tasks as needed within the scope of a project.
  • Leads multi-discipline support consultant teams in project development and design.
  • Pursues and wins contracts within the State and various municipalities.
  • Presents new ideas and techniques to clients and stakeholders.
  • Supports efforts in proposal development, project scoping, and developing client relationships.
  • Attends design review meetings and interact with clients with support staff
  • Tracks budgets using financial metrics.
  • Participates in professional associations and attend industry networking events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Texas
  • 15+ years’ multi-discipline experience in schematic design and PS&E, with at least 10 years' managing projects from conception to completion
  • Ability to manage multiple work assignments and/or contracts for multiple clients simultaneously
  • Ability to technically and professionally mentor members of project team
  • Ability to remain flexible to changing client demands
  • Exceptional ability to develop and maintain professional relationships
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with all levels of employees in an organization
  • Must be able to work from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed to meet project deadlines
