Overview

This position is responsible for providing design support to engineers for structural projects. This is an entry level position and training/mentoring will be provided on the job for the specific software/technologies that are used in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare plans, profiles and detail drawings using Microstation, OpenRoads, OpenBridge, and Civil-3D.
  • Develop construction documents showing elevations, profiles and cross-sections as well as develop draft design engineering drawings.
  • Adhere to company drafting standards, including layer names, line and character styles, and file naming conventions for sheet layouts.
  • Interpret sketches and other input to determine the best approach for completing drawings with minimal supervision.
  • Apply design knowledge to improve support capabilities continuously.
  • Maintain regular communication with lead engineers and project managers regarding project progress.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Interest in computer technologies in the creation of structural details and other types of physical infrastructure
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work assignments.
  • Must be dependable and reliable.
  • Must be able to work 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime as needed

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Computer-Aided Design or related field.
