Overview

Under the guidance of a Senior Land Planner and as a member of a project team, this position will assist with design and other necessary daily tasks for site/commercial and residential land development projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the creation and preparation of base sheets, research zoning ordinances, and prepare city submittals.
  • Learn base sheet detailed information such as: property boundary, topography, aerial imagery, existing easements, potential ROW dedications, flood plain, street names, existing, city limit lines, ETJ line, etc.
  • Coordinate and communicate with project team in engineering, production, design, and management to meet overall project objectives and deadlines
  • Develop concept sketches and prepare graphics with AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and SketchUp.
  • Inform Senior Land Planner(s) of progress on assigned projects and request work when needed
  • Maintain organized work area to allow access of project information by other team member
  • Flexible in work assignments and team assignments

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, or related field
  • Familiar with land planning principles, techniques, and procedures
  • Familiar with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Bluebeam, SketchUp.
  • Basic understanding of geometry
  • Detail oriented with high level of accuracy
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Flexibility in managing job tasks as deadlines and priorities change
  • Must be reliable and dependable
  • Must be able to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional overtime
