Overview

This position is responsible for providing platting support to engineers for site/commercial and residential land development projects. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of subdivision plat, development plat, site plan, and/or abandonment application submittal packages for the corresponding reviewing municipality and/or agency.
  • Coordinate with all project team members including but not limited to subdivision platting, land planning, project management teams, and/or the corresponding Client’s team to prepare plat recordation packages for formal submittal to the City of Houston and/or surrounding municipalities.
  • Attend plat recordation meetings with the reviewing municipality and/or agency.
  • Coordinate with subdivision platting team members to prepare all aspects of subdivision plat recordation packages.
  • Actively participate in quality assurance / quality control process for finalization of subdivision plats.
  • Assist in the due diligence and/or feasibility study research to support engineering design and subdivision platting proposals and processes.
  • Coordinate with applicable teams to obtain addresses for subdivision plats and or development site plans.
  • Prepare address maps for recorded subdivision plats.
  • Archive all subdivision platting related documentation including but not limited to project files, recorded subdivision plats, address maps, etc.
  • Provide technical support to land planning, subdivision platting, site planning, and/or landscape architecture projects.
  • Prepare concept plans and graphics in digital format.
  • Prepare schematic plans in digital format.
  • Prepare presentation graphics related to land planning and/or subdivision platting projects.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of related work experience.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED certification
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, SketchUp, Lumion and/or similar 3D graphics software.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products a plus.
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of planning.
  • Knowledge of local agency criteria a plus.
  • Ability to review plans and apply provisions of the ordinances and codes to determine compliance with such regulations.
  • Ability to create graphic designs, development strategies, and render site plans via sketches and/or computer graphics highly desirable
